Child Interventions by Diagnoses

At Raising Premmies we are keen for parents to be proactive in the very early years (from birth) to give their child the best environment that purposefully targets developing skills. This is a preventative approach and occurs in the absence of any known developmental lags or gaps.

Many problems that become apparent when the child goes to school or kinder are only hinted at in the earlier years and parents (and professionals) who do not understand that premmies are at greater risk for a range of problems assume (and hope) the "hints" will disappear and become normal behaviour.

When developmental gaps do not disappear, but become more apparent, a diagnosis of one kind or another is often possible. This is when really targeted interventions can be used to increase the child's lagging abilities.
